In the ever-evolving world of beauty and fashion, few stories inspire like that of Jamielynn De Leon — a world-renowned celebrity hairstylist turned visionary entrepreneur. Her journey from styling behind the chair to shaping the future of the beauty industry is nothing short of revolutionary.
Jamielynn’s career began like many others: with scissors in hand, passion in her heart, and a dream of making people feel beautiful. But it wasn’t long before she saw a deeper opportunity — one that went far beyond hair. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a hunger to change the status quo, she built Rogue House Salon, a cutting-edge boutique that quickly became a staple of high fashion, earning a spot on Times Square billboards and behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week.

But Jamielynn didn’t stop at building a popular salon. She recognized the operational and emotional toll salon owners face, especially in managing the front desk and juggling business logistics. That insight birthed Salon Receptionist, a virtual live receptionist service that helps salon owners streamline their businesses and reclaim their time. Her approach was so impactful, she wrote a book about it: “Ditch the Front Desk, Double Your Revenue, Reclaim Your Time.”

Through her House of Annex firm, Jamielynn opened doors for other stylists to experience the editorial world, gain runway exposure, and build world-class portfolios. As
the 10X Director and Lead Artist for NYFW’s Runway 7 Fashion, she brings her signature style to fashion weeks from New York to Paris — all while mentoring the next generation of beauty professionals.
Her success hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s been spotlighted by Forbes, Business Insider, The Today Show, and was named one of Entrepreneur Herald’s 40 Under 40. But behind the glam is a powerful story of resilience. Having overcome PTSD and a brain injury, Jamielynn uses her platform not just to teach beauty — but to share strength, healing, and purpose.

Today, Jamielynn De Leon isn’t just designing hairstyles; she’s designing an empire. Through her YouTube channel, digital courses, and international workshops, she’s empowering salon owners worldwide to dream bigger, work smarter, and lead with intention. In an industry often driven by trends, Jamielynn is setting the standard — with heart, hustle, and innovation.

In an industry often marked by rigid systems and glamorized surface-level beauty, Jamielynn De Leon carved out a radically different path—one rooted in authenticity, empowerment, and innovation. What began behind the salon chair evolved into a multidimensional brand that’s redefining the beauty and fashion industries from the inside out.
Jamielynn’s journey began like many others—with a pair of scissors, a comb, and a passion for making people feel beautiful. But her story took a powerful turn the moment she stepped into salon ownership. For her, it was never just about hairstyles; it was about creating experiences, building communities, and reimagining what leadership in the beauty world could look like.

That entrepreneurial spark led to the founding of Rogue House Salon—a one-of-a-kind space that merges high-end editorial aesthetics with a laid-back lounge atmosphere. Inspired by her work with Runway 7 Fashion and New York Fashion Week, Jamielynn infused her salon with the energy of the runway, giving stylists a front-row seat to high-fashion experiences. But she didn’t stop there.
Frustrated by outdated industry practices, Jamielynn launched her revolutionary “Ditch the Front Desk” framework—a system born out of necessity after facing a traumatic brain injury and PTSD. Her need for sustainable, smart operations led to the creation of Salon Receptionist, a virtual live receptionist service that
that now empowers salon owners to operate seamlessly without the burnout of micromanagement. It’s not just a tech solution; it’s a movement toward freedom and functionality in an industry notorious for its chaos. Her work with House of Annex further showcases her commitment to elevating hairstylists beyond the chair. By offering education in branding, business acumen, and high-profile exposure, she’s mentoring artists to step confidently into the spotlight and build lasting authority.

Jamielynn’s brand isn’t confined to products or services—it’s a living ecosystem of platforms, experiences, and frameworks that equip beauty professionals to thrive creatively and financially. Whether she’s coaching, styling for editorials, or speaking to a room full of entrepreneurs, her mission is clear: to dismantle toxic industry norms and replace them with freedom, artistry, and empowerment.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW OF JAMIELYNN DE LEON WITH TFW TIMES
Q: What was the defining moment that pushed you to evolve from a hairstylist into an entrepreneur?
A. The transition came when I fully embraced the responsibilities of salon ownership. That pivotal moment wasn’t just about doing hair anymore—it was about operating a successful business. That sense of ownership drove me to expand my knowledge and pursue excellence beyond styling. I discovered that the creativity I expressed through hair naturally translated into developing innovative business strategies and systems. I saw salons treating stylists in corporate and often toxic environments, and I was determined to create something different—a relaxed, supportive space where stylists could thrive both artistically and personally.
Q: How did your experience at New York Fashion Week and Times Square shape your vision for Rogue House Salon?
A. I learned early that gaining authority in the industry means focusing on your strengths. My natural abilities in leadership and management, combined with my passion for hair, created the perfect foundation. My journey began at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles, which led to an opportunity to move to New York to continue my work. The turning point came through our partnership with Runway 7 Fashion, which significantly elevated our visibility. This collaboration put Rogue House Salon on the map and brought tremendous exposure as we became recognized for our fashion week expertise. These experiences shaped my vision for creating a salon that wasn’t just about hair services but about being part of the fashion conversation.
Q: Your “Ditch the Front Desk” framework has changed salon management—what inspired this innovative approach?
A. The “Ditch the Front Desk” framework was born from necessity and transformed into innovation. Initially, I felt overwhelmed trying to implement various salon management approaches without having the right tools. The abundance of contradicting information from different sources created confusion. I needed a smarter, more efficient way to lead my salon. Truthfully, the real catalyst came following a traumatic experience that led to PTSD and a brain injury. This challenge forced me to rethink traditional salon operations and create a streamlined system that could function optimally even when I couldn’t be physically present. What began as a personal solution evolved into a revolutionary approach that has transformed how salons operate.
Q: What challenges did you face in launching House of Annex, and how does it empower hairstylists?
A. The biggest challenge in launching House of Annex was changing the industry mindset around value and recognition. When you work on hair for a team event, it’s often unpaid volunteer work. I constantly heard stylists asking, “Are you going to pay me?” I needed to train people that this type of work builds momentum and authority in the industry. I created House of Annex to provide hairstylists with a clear framework for becoming an authority. Most workshops focus solely on technical hair skills, but no one was teaching stylists how to establish themselves as experts and build their personal brand. House of Annex fills this crucial gap, giving stylists the business acumen needed to transform their technical skills into a thriving career and expert status.
Q: Being recognized by Forbes and Business Insider is a huge achievement—how did that recognition impact your career?
A. These prestigious accolades significantly accelerated my career trajectory. Building these credentials and gaining visibility in major entrepreneurial publications opened doors to opportunities that aligned perfectly with my goals. The recognition positioned me advantageously in the industry—more people wanted to collaborate with me, understanding both my expertise and my vision. These features weren’t just about personal validation; they served as powerful credibility markers that helped me forge valuable connections and partnerships. The impact went beyond simple recognition—it provided a platform that allowed me to further disrupt and innovate within the beauty industry.
Q: How has overcoming PTSD and a brain injury influenced the way you run your businesses and mentor others?
A. Before experiencing PTSD and a brain injury, I had already begun implementing innovative systems, including a call center. However, when I was forced to step back from the front-facing aspects of the business and work primarily behind the scenes, I literally had to “ditch the front desk” and create robust systems that could function without my constant presence. This challenge became a blessing—these systems helped me double my revenue while optimizing my time. This experience led directly to creating Salon Receptionist, a virtual live receptionist service that handles administrative tasks, allowing salon owners like me to focus on what we do best. This personal journey has deeply informed how I mentor others, teaching them to build resilient businesses that can thrive even through personal challenges.
Q: What key lessons from your Women’s Studies degree have helped you navigate the beauty and fashion industries?
A. I love this question! Initially, I pursued Women’s Studies because my mother wanted me to attend college, even though I already knew I wanted to do hair. What began as a practical choice evolved into a passion—I became actively involved in women’s studies groups and developed a deep understanding of how women have evolved throughout history. This education profoundly shaped my approach to empowering women and helping others advance their businesses. The feminist perspectives I gained have influenced how I structure my companies, mentor others, and approach leadership. My background in Women’s Studies has been instrumental in helping me transform countless lives by combining gender awareness with business acumen.
Q: What trends do you see shaping the future of hairstyling, both in salons and on runways?
A. I believe we’re witnessing a powerful shift toward self-expression through hair. More than ever, hair has become a personal statement reflecting individual identity. We’re seeing bolder color choices & dynamic, innovative haircuts as people seek to express their authentic selves. Whether it’s asymmetrical short cuts or vibrant green hair color, what’s truly evolving in our industry is the focus on identifying & celebrating personalities rather than conforming to traditional standards. This movement toward self-expression rather than following trends is revolutionizing both salon work and runway styling. The future belongs to stylists who can help clients discover & express their unique identity through their hair.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to hairstylists aspiring to break into the fashion industry, what would it be?
A. Personal branding plus momentum equals authority. When you clearly identify your personal brand and gain momentum in your areas of excellence, you will naturally establish yourself as an authority. The crucial element most people miss is momentum. Many believe that creating a personal brand alone is enough to become an authority, but the real opportunity lies in building momentum. When you consistently excel in your specialty and gain recognition for it, authority follows naturally. It’s about finding what you’re exceptionally good at, doing it repeatedly with excellence, and making sure the right people notice. This combination is the true formula for success in the fashion industry.
Q: Q: Your Virtual Live Receptionist service has changed the way salon owners manage their time—what was the biggest hurdle in launching it?
A. The greatest challenge was helping salon owners embrace modern technology. Many were comfortable with traditional methods—paper booking systems or outdated software—and reluctant to modernize their operations. The hurdle wasn’t just technological but psychological—convincing owners to trust a virtual system with their client relationships. We overcame this by offering free trials, allowing salon owners to experience firsthand how the system could transform their business. Once they saw the benefits, they loved the product so much that referrals began happening organically. The service became successful because it genuinely solved a problem, freeing salon owners from administrative burdens while improving client experience.
Q: What’s the most exciting or surreal moment you’ve experienced in your career so far?
A. The most surreal moment was realizing I was genuinely changing the industry. Seeing salon owners confidently replace their physical receptionists with our Virtual Live Receptionist service, watching hairstylists build their authority using our frameworks, and transforming Rogue House into both a salon and a relaxed lounge environment—these achievements confirmed we were creating meaningful change. Unlike traditional elite salons that can feel intimidating, we created a welcoming space where people could relax and connect. That moment of recognition—that my vision was not just succeeding but reshaping industry standards—was both surreal and profoundly fulfilling. We also proudly employ overseas staff—specifically stay-at-home mothers in the USA—fostering loyalty and empowerment.
Q: How do you balance the creative and business sides of running multiple ventures?
A. Like many entrepreneurs, I carefully partition my time and energy. Creativity flows naturally for me, which has enabled me to strategize on a different level of innovation. I focus on being practical about identifying and addressing industry needs, which is why I believe I’ve been able to disrupt the industry with necessary innovations. The balance comes from recognizing when to wear my creative hat versus my business hat, though they often inform each other. My creative thinking helps me solve business problems in unconventional ways,
